Graphic Design
Below is all the work I’ve done while I was a student at Illinois State University, projects from the McLean County Museum of History, and t-shirt spirit wear designs from Select Screen Prints and Embroidery.
ISU Work
“Cold Heart”
Based on the song “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa, this poster represents my feelings towards music during a time in my life when I felt lost as a designer, and music was my getaway. Although the lyrics in the song are quite clear, I showed them as unreadable to reflect how overwhelming that time was in my life. This is the first poster for the Found Objects project.
For this project, I was required to design a poster using a minimal amount of words to instruct the viewer how to fold an origami '“Pecking Chicken.” The biggest challenge was to illustrate the instructions without words, and have it fit on a 11X17 poster.
I designed this poster to represent one of my classmates at Illinois State University. We were required to interview someone in our class and then design a poster to show their personality. During that interview I asked Shauna what things in her life are important to her, what her favorite works were, and what sort of hobbies she has. She told me that she enjoys calligraphy, so I made this into a calligraphy poster listing all the stuff she enjoys. This project was a challenge for me because I had to interview a stranger, and I’ve never done anything with calligraphy. Overall this project is one of my proudest.
Before I started working on this typeface, I was required to do research on where my family came from. My grandmother had made me a scrapbook of my family tree as my high school graduation present. She wrote me a letter describing that my family tree has ties in France, why they left, and when they came to the U.S. In the back of the book, she placed handkerchiefs that belonged to her grandmother, and I felt inspired by the embroidery. I have such a personal connection to this typeface. It wasn’t just a project, it was a thank you and an “I love you” to my grandmother.
Breaking
For this poster, I wanted to represent how I would visualize the beat of a song. Using elements hidden in “Cold Heart” I illustrated soundwaves with records interrupting the waves. This is the second poster for the Found Objects project.
The book “Einstein’s Dreams'' is a collection of short stories where, in each story, time is different. For example, time could be sticky, altitude affects how time goes by, people waking up with no memory of the day before, time works in rings and red is the only color, etc. I designed a book jacket based off of the story where time is sticky and there are pockets of time. Certain people are stuck in the 17th century while others are living the same week over and over again. The concept of sticky time made me think of a spiderweb. People are stuck in specific points in time, so I had the one web touch each bit of information on the cover.
This project represents a brief history of sushi and how it came to Bloomington IL. The final product was to post this on Instagram with the tag #nationalimmigrantsday.
Spring 2023 BFA
For the entirety of the spring 2023 semester, I was assigned to do research on a topic that I'm interested in and display my research designs in an exhibition event at the end of the year. For my six Research Cards, I explored the emotions someone could get from music, music theory, and therapy. I designed the six cards using Procreate and InDesign.
Artist Statement:
An Individual's opinions on music differ from person to person. There may be some similarities between them, but each person has their own unique relationship with it. For this reason, I came up with “Your Local Record Shop.” I came up with a list of questions that anyone and everyone could answer about their own experience with music. I asked these eleven questions to six different people, including myself, and created record sleeves. The record sleeve idea came from the notion of collecting vinyl records and decorating the room with them. Each sleeve represents the individual’s answers to the questions, and their connection with music. The space itself is meant to represent a small corner of a record shop and connect to the viewer in a familiar way.
My goal was to get the audience to think of the music in their life, how it makes them feel, the importance it has, and the memories certain tunes can bring back.

Internship Work
The Trades and Labor Festival is an event that happens every year in Downtown Blooming, IL. For this event, I was tasked to create posters, flyers, social media posts for facebook, the Museum’s Website, and Instagram.
The History Makers Gala project included a mailed invitation that has a similar look to this website banner, and a fully designed booklet with information about the gala.
The Cemetery walk is a yearly event held in the Evergreen Cemetery. Actors are hired to stand by a grave, and act like the person who’s buried there to tell the audience about their lives and what Bloomington, Normal was like while they were alive.
This was the biggest and final project. I was tasked to create several social media posts, the cover of the magazine, a bookmark, and T-shirts.
